About Us
Martin County Youth Intervention and Prevention serves the youth of Martin County, MN, through programs addressing the needs of at-risk youth. The Youth Intervention and Prevention (YIP) programs began in 1998 and operate within the Martin County Probation Department. The Youth Intervention & Prevention Coordinator coordinates and implements the programs for Juvenile offenders including the Martin County Teen Court Program, Cognitive Skills Program, Community Service Work Program, Shoplifting Intervention Program, Tobacco Awareness Program, BEST (Building and Empowering Students Together) Program and the Martin County Truancy Program.

Knowledge of the criminal justice system
(preferred)
Ability to work well with collaborating agencies and referral sources.
Ability to establish, work, and maintain effective working relationships with juvenile offenders and their families.
Ability to operate general office equipment and proven proficiency in operating personal computers and other common office software applications.
Ability to maintain appropriate records and files.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.
Ability to perform accounting in relation to the grant award.
The ability to provide crisis management intervention when needed.
Ability to facilitate a curriculum in a group setting.
Ability to work independently.
Establish and maintain a positive and effective working relationship with others including co-workers and the public.
Ability to speak in public and foster good public relations.
Certifications/Training/Degrees generally needed here:
Technical School/Associates Degree
Minimum - two years of formal training in technical school or associate’s degree.
Related Field Experience
Two years of progressive experience in related field (Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice) along with the skills, knowledge and abilities required; or equivalent combined education and experience.
